I started documenting the lake. With the reality of Bangalore’s history of numerous lakes having been grabbed / converted into real estate & with the coming boom in this belt, I stated to our concerned Shubh residents that the only way to save this was to look for a policy initiative. I compiled a report, which was then submitted to the Governor in 2007, along with copies to every Govt. authority in Bangalore. We blocked the attempt of a major builder to gain access through the lake for 5 years! The Supreme courts ruling helped in stopping this even though a minister was involved. ©
